Award Concepts employs the latest technology to manufacture the products you’ve selected for your program. The following services are all in house to ensure a rapid response to your requests:
Graphics
In-house we have a graphics arts and design department with over 25-years of recognition industry experience. From design of emblematic jewelry awards, photography of award offerings, design and production of printed materials, our in-house graphics team is able to control all aspects of the creation and fulfillment process.
Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing
Computer Aided Design software allows us to go from concept to finished piece in less than 3 weeks. Using the most advanced 3-D CAD program, designs are created then downloaded to Rapid Prototyping equipment for production of models and molds.
Casting
We cast in platinum, 10K, 14K, and 18K white and yellow gold, sterling/platinum, and sterling silver using the unique lost wax method of casting.
Emblem Die-Cutting
A 3-D pantograph machine traces the pattern of your emblem and engraves the design into a piece of steel. Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Automated Machining (CAM) are also used. The die is hardened and tempered to withstand the pressure of the hydraulic press. Depending on the size of the emblem and the metal being squeezed into the die the force may exceed 100 tons.
Ring Mold-Making
A soft metal master mold is created. Metal molds are used primarily for award, championship and school rings where high pressure wax injection is needed to bring out all of the detail. In the case of a fashion rings with delicate prong or filigree work, a rubber mold will be pressed after the master model is created. Rubber molds are used when the item has a large amount of prongs, or undercutting and the mold material needs to be flexible.
